The essentials,
in plain language.
This page summarizes the current GWDC policy information. Registration and account forms contain the complete terms that apply to enrollment.
Annual tuition
Tuition is an annual fee divided into ten monthly installments and charged automatically on the first business day of each month. It is not prorated for absences, holidays or partial months, and charges already processed are non-refundable.
Missed classes
Dancers are strongly encouraged to make up classes missed because of illness, travel, holidays or weather. Make-ups must be completed within 30 days of the missed class.
Declined payments
Declined charges or bank drafts incur a $15 fee. Accounts not reconciled by the 15th incur a $15 late fee; accounts still unresolved by the first of the following month may be dropped from classes and are subject to a $20 re-enrollment fee.
Withdrawal
A parent or guardian must give 30 days’ written notice through the contact section of the parent portal. Telling an instructor, supervisor or leaving voicemail is not sufficient. Withdrawal is complete only after email confirmation.
Class changes
Adds, drops and transfers must be requested through the parent portal and are not effective until confirmed by email. Adding a class does not create another registration fee, though tuition may change with class length.
Recital & costumes
The annual June recital is optional. Participating dancers pay a non-refundable costume and recital fee in February. Students joining after February 15 may not be able to participate because costumes may no longer be available.
Automatic enrollment
Current students are automatically enrolled in future school-year and summer seasons so they receive priority. Families receive advance email notices and opportunities to opt out before tuition is charged.
Communication
GWDC communicates primarily by email about recitals, future seasons, closures, holidays and other studio information. Families are responsible for keeping their account email current.
Physical corrections
Appropriate touch may be used to correct posture, placement or choreography. Teachers use touch directly and sensitively, seek agreement when appropriate, and refrain when a student indicates discomfort.
Safety & releases
Registration includes GWDC’s release of liability, assumption of risk, emergency medical authorization and studio marketing release. Families should review the complete terms during registration.
