Fitness Instructor
Greater Washington Dance Center – Reston, VA
Greater Washington Dance Center is seeking an energetic and motivating Fitness Instructor to teach a variety of group fitness classes in our new fitness and cross-training studio. Classes are designed for participants ages 10 through adult and emphasize strength, agility, flexibility, conditioning, injury prevention, and overall wellness.
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging fitness classes for participants ages 10 through adult.
- Develop safe, age-appropriate workouts that promote strength, endurance, coordination, flexibility, and healthy movement habits.
- Encourage proper technique while providing modifications for different fitness levels.
- Foster a positive, supportive atmosphere where participants feel challenged and successful.
- Create specialized classes such as strength training, conditioning, mobility, flexibility, core training, and functional fitness.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional studio environment.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification from a nationally recognized organization (required).
- Experience teaching group fitness classes for children, teens, and adults.
- Strong knowledge of exercise science, functional movement, anatomy, and injury prevention.
- Ability to develop safe, effective, and engaging workouts for participants ages 10 through adult.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
- Reliable, organized, professional, and enthusiastic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Dance training or professional dance experience is a plus.
- Experience working with dancers, youth athletes, or performing artists.
- Additional certifications in strength training, functional fitness, Pilates, yoga, barre, mobility, HIIT, or related disciplines are welcomed.
Schedule
Availability is needed during late afternoons and evenings, with opportunities for weekday and weekend classes.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal instructor enjoys helping children, teens, and adults become stronger, healthier, and more confident through movement. A passion for teaching, a positive attitude, and the ability to motivate participants of all ages are essential. Experience working in a dance environment or an appreciation for movement-based training is highly valued.
Pilates Reformer Instructor

Greater Washington Dance Center is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Pilates Reformer Instructor to teach classes in our new fitness and cross-training studio. We are looking for an instructor who is passionate about helping participants improve strength, flexibility, posture, balance, and overall wellness through safe and effective Reformer training.
Responsibilities
- Teach Pilates Reformer classes for adults and teens.
- Plan and lead engaging, progressive classes for a variety of experience levels.
- Provide individualized instruction and modifications while maintaining proper technique and alignment.
- Ensure the safe operation and care of Pilates Reformers and studio equipment.
- Create a welcoming, encouraging, and professional class environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized studio.
Qualifications
- Current Pilates Reformer Instructor Certification from a nationally recognized training program (required).
- Experience teaching Pilates Reformer classes to adults and teens.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, body mechanics, movement principles, and injury prevention.
- Ability to provide individualized instruction and modifications while maintaining proper form and technique.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
- Reliable, professional, and enthusiastic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Dance training or professional dance experience is a plus.
- Experience working with dancers or athletes.
- Additional certifications in Mat Pilates, barre, yoga, strength training, or related fitness disciplines are welcomed.
