Distinctive programs support the whole artist—developing resilient bodies, creative minds and a lasting sense of belonging.
Strength, Agility & Flexibility
Strength, Agility & Flexibility (SAF)—a purposeful cross-training program combining conditioning, mobility and Pilates-informed work. It helps dancers build strong, resilient bodies, improve alignment and support healthy technique.
Adaptive Dance
Saturday Adaptive Dance classes welcome children with Down syndrome, autism or other cognitive and motor differences. A certified instructor uses Once Upon a Ballet with younger dancers and Rhythm Works Integrative Dance with older dancers. A nearly 1:1 student-to-teacher ratio gives each child individualized support to move, connect and grow with confidence.

Private instruction that develops technique, musicianship and a lifelong relationship with music.

Thoughtfully designed performance opportunities help dancers build confidence, deepen their artistry, and discover the joy of creating something meaningful together. Through our resident company, Festival Ballet Virginia, these dreams become a reality.
GWDC’s Professional Division dancers may also be invited to apprentice with resident contemporary company Motion X Dance, gaining professional performance experience through original, collaborative work.
